Brothers Peter and Juraj Saganovci will continue their cycling career on the joint team next year.
In addition to captain Peter Sagan, France’s TotalEnergies also named his older brother Juraj, although there was no indication two months ago.
During the September races around Slovakia, Juraj Sagan, along with another Slovakian Erik Baška, stated that the pro-continental French team had not counted on his services and that his manager was looking at other options.
“The three-time world champion takes with him from the Bora-Hansgrohe team not only Italian Daniel Oss and Pole Maciej Bodnar, but also his brother Juraj. He signed the contract after long negotiations for the 2022 season.”
Juraj Sagan, 32, has been accompanying Peter Sagan throughout his career dating back to 2009.
Together they passed through the bands Liqugas, Cannondale, Tinkoff Saxo and resp. Tinkoff and they have spent the past five seasons together in a Bora-Hansgrohe jersey.
Juraj Sagan is a local welcome for one-off races, but also jogging, respectively. Slightly undulating stages from the longer races.
During his professional career, he became a four-time champion of Slovakia in a race with a mass start, at one stage in the Tour de Langkawi 2016 in Malaysia he took second place, and a year later he finished 14th in the great Flemish classic Gent- Wevelgem.
