Edmonton — Vancouver hockey players lost Friday night in a preseason game before the start of the new NHL season on Edmonton 2:3 ice. Slovakia’s Jaroslav Halak saved the entire game in the visitors’ goal, neutralizing 39 of 42 shots at home. It was surpassed by Conor McDavid, Leon Drysittle, and Derek Ryan. The Canucks jersey was scored by defender, Queen Hughes, who along with Elias Peterson (0+1) made his first appearance in preparation after the recent signing of a new contract.

In the next warm-up game, the two-time defending champions from Tampa beat the Panthers 6:2 in the Florida derby, as defender Eric Cernak appeared as the Lightning Defensive. After two quick goals, Corey Perry and Captain Stephen Stamkos scored. Dallas led Slovakian quarterback Andrej Seker 3:1 at home with Colorado.

The New Jersey-New York Islands game has been canceled due to a power outage. The lights went out in part of the Prudential Center shortly before the meeting and could not be restored. The teams, in consultation with NHL management, agreed that the lighting was insufficient for duel play. They will not have time to replace the match before the start of the competition season.
