Guadalajara – Estonian tennis player Anett Kontaveit entered the WTA World Championships in Guadalajara, Mexico with a victory. In Wednesday’s opening match of the tournament, as the eighth seed, she beat second-placed Barbora Krejčíková of the Czech Republic 6:3 and 6:4 in a group called Teotihuacán.

Winner Roland Garros Krejčíková plays the tournament for the first time in singles, for the third time in total. In the first set, she failed as she hoped and lost after half an hour 3:6. She lost serve in the fourth game and did not win a break during the first term. The Estonian player confirmed that she was in good shape when she won tournaments in Cluj and Moscow in October, as well as in the second set.
