Interview: Phil Graves to toe the line at Ironman Lanzarote

There had been a couple of rumours that Ironman pro, Philip Graves, was intending on racing at the upcoming Ironman Lanzarote race. This wasn’t in Graves initial race plans this year and might have been just a juicy race rumour… so I caught up with him to find out more.

Triathlete results over the weekend

There wasn’t much long-distance to report on from the Easter weekend. Even triathletes need a weekend off racing and time to eat a ton of chocolate.

However, casting my eye down some results I spotted a few of our long distance triathletes were racing the odd short course race.

TriStar Majorca lineup announced

Tristar Majorca has anounced its line-up for the 2012 race and there is plenty of long-distance British stars in the mix.

The race takes place on April 15th, and the pro’s will be competing for a 10,000 Euro prize pot and the winners trophy.

Competitors will be racing over the unique long(ish) distance of 1km swim, 100km bike and 10km run, in what is a key early season European race for many of the professionals. Find out who is competing below.

Phillip Graves is one of the top British talents in long distance racing and has a very impressive CV. In 2011 he suffered an injury that ruled him out of competition for most of the year but in 2012 he is back… and he plans to come back with a bang.

In 2012 Graves returns to long distance racing and in this exclusive interview to Beyond Going Long he reveals where he is racing in the first half of the year, which races in the UK suit him best and who he thinks are the current best British racers.
