Gossage takes a title and lots more long course action

Despite it being a relatively quiet weekend on the international circuit - the pro’s and elites from the British Isles still conspired to put in performances that made it a very interesting and successful weekend all around.

Lucy Gossage will of course rightly take the plaudits for taking the title of European Long Distance Duathlon Champion - but she wasn’t the only pro in action at this race or indeed elsewhere. Read the rest of the article to find out who was in action this weekend.

Gossage produces stunning win again - new European Long Distance Duathlon Champ

Results are still coming out of Holland, but it is apparent that Lucy Gossage has produced another early season stunning result, to claim the title of European Long Distance Duathlon champion.

British Champions set to race in ETU Powerman Long Distance

The GE Great Britain Team for the ETU Powerman Long Distance (29 April) has been confirmed with three elite British Champions travelling to the Netherlands.

Lidbury wins and Halksworth takes 2nd - Challenge Fuerteventura

Some amazing results coming out of Fuerteventura this morning and Emma-Kate Lidbury continues her rise through the elite ranks with a superb win here.

Not only did Emma-Kate Lidbury take the win, but fellow Brit Lucy Gossage recovered from a tough start to the run leg to storm into second, and Dan Halksworth was in the mix right from the off and finished in second place.

Race preview: Challenge Fuerteventura and Tri-Star Majorca

Ignore the wet and windy conditions outside your window - the action this week is in Spain! Two big races have attracted plenty of British pro’s in search of nice prize pots and top racing action.

The Challenge series comes to Fuerteventura for a middle distance race and has attracted 7 professionals from British shores - including the comeback race for our most decorated long course athlete.

Tristar Majorca, has attracted a large crowd including 9 professionals.

Lucy Gossage wins British Elite Duathlon 2012

Lucy Gossage is the Cambridge based 2nd year pro who made a big splash in her first year. After her recent win at the British Duathlon Championships, Beyond Going Long got in contact to find out what her plans were for 2012 and how far she feels she can develop as a pro.

What we found was a very ambitious, determined and obviously talented triathlete ready to burst onto the long course race calendar!

British elites taste national title success

British elites were making a name for themselves both on the international scene and domestically this weekend. Whilst Rachel Joyce was putting in a PB at Ironman Melbourne, closer to home Lucy Gossage and Fraser Cartmell were picking up national titles.
