RIJÁD – Slovakian motorcycle rider Stefan Svetko finished 18th in the fifth stage of the 44th Dakar Rally on Thursday. The 395-kilometer special managed to pass in 3:33:57 hours. He lost 14:25 minutes from the fastest Toby Price of Australia. Second place went to Italian Danilo Petrucci (+4:14), who was two seconds behind Ross Branch of Botswana.

Brett Sam Sunderland leads the overall standings, Svetko lost one place and closed out the top ten. This is the second-worst driver result for the Slovnaft Rally team in the Dakar this year, taking only first place in the third stage, in which he finished 19th.
