Swiss tennis player Belinda Bencicová entered the WTA tournament in Ostrava with a smooth victory over the Spaniard Sara Soribesova Turmova 6: 2, 6: 3 and after the match also confessed her love for Slovakia.

Although she was born in Switzerland 24 years ago, she also has Slovak parents and a one-person friend and fitness trainer.
When in Slovakia, she trains regularly at TK Slovan Bratislava, which also helped her with the title in the Slovak Additional League.
“We have an extensive background in Slovakia. The family is on the mother’s side from Moyenka near Nitra, the father is from Bratislava.
I only speak Slovak with my parents at home and sometimes I think Slovak,” Bencikova said according to the website. iSport.cz.
Benshikova peaked her 2021 season at the end of July at the Olympics in Tokyo, winning a gold in singles and a silver alongside Viktoria Golubek in doubles.
“It was an amazing experience for me. I have never been as proud of myself as I was after winning Olympic medals. I have a beautiful place at home, it’s fond memories.”
In the quarter-finals on Friday at Ostravar Arena, Anett Kontavitova lost to Estonia 4:6, 3:6.
