The Japanese magazine Famitsu gave us a look at console sales in this country over the past year, as we learned that the PlayStation 5 is keeping pace with its sales and significantly outperforming the Xbox Series sales, by about ten times.
The old PlayStation 4, which also has better sales than the Xbox, hasn’t said its last word either. Sony thus maintains the usual standard and Microsoft, despite its strong showing in the form of Forza Horizon 5 and Halo Infinite, is unable to score in the Land of the Rising Sun as you might imagine. Sony was set to sell 942,000 PlayStation 5 consoles last year, while the Xbox Series X and S only had about 95,000.
The other dimension is the Nintendo Switch console, which was set to sell 5.3 million units, which is about 200,000 more than in 2020.
