Outlaw
1st July 2012
The Outlaw is the smash hit long distance success that has taken the country by storm and mixes with the larger events that offer higher prize money and qualifying slots. It does this by providing a big-feel event at a competitive price and delivers a fantastic event. The evidence? Multiple awards from industry press and online websites.
Delivered by One Step Beyond Promotions, The Outlaw gets its name from its location - Nottingham. The swim is held in the Regatta lake before heading out onto a fast and flat bike course around Nottingham. The run leg is then a multi-lap course that is full of supporters and provides a really uplifting atmosphere. Outlaw is probably one of the flatest courses in the country and as such trades on a reputation as a great place for age-groupers and elites to grab a PB.
In 2012 the event will be sold out which is a fantastic achievement when you consider the depth of competition in the market place and lack of attractive Kona slots.
The last two years have provided some very exciting races - and what it lacks in depth of pro-field it makes up for in a fantastic and competitive age-group competition.
Course records:
| Joel Jameson (2011) | 8:47:47 |
| Catherine Faux (2011) | 10:22:51 |
