As if competing in a long distance triathlon wasn’t hard enough, one organiser has attempted to create the hardest course in the country in the Snowdonia mountain range of Wales. If tough races on your CV are your kind of thing, then this should be right up there as one of your top choices.
The Brutal kicks off in Lake Padarn, which is the easiest part of your day. What follows is a truly brutal (clue is in the name) bike course through the mountainous hills of Wales. The marathon leg is up and down Snowdon (largest mountain in the UK) - so don’t think you can recover once you are off the bike.

I think the quote on your website re Snowdonia being the largest mountain in the UK should be amended to being the largest in WALES. Ben Nevis is by far the largest in the UK….
