Susie Cheetham has surgery following big crash at Ironman 70.3 South Africa
Susie Cheetham has undergone surgery on a broken arm, which she sustained in a big bike crash during Ironman 70.3 South Africa.
Cheetham showed great heart and bravery to complete the race, finishing in 8th place, despite her injury, and was rushed to hospital afterwards where the diagnosis was made. In a series of tweets, she charted her injury and treatment. Watch out - there are some graphic pictures here:

Luckily Susie has the love and support of fellow professionals Will Clarke and Mark Threlfall plus her husband and coach, Rob.

Beyond Going Long would like to wish Susie and her team the very best ahead of her recovery.
