NI Decaman 2012 was the scene for one of those incredible feats of tri-endurance even hardened Iron-athletes wince at… a deca-Iron race. That’s right - 10 long distance races over 10 days. In ten days, the succesful athletes would go on to finish 24 miles of swimming, 1120 miles on the bike and 262 miles of running - over the beautiful but difficult terrain of Eskragh Lough. Ouch.
The event was supported by Chain Reaction Cycles and it was one of their staff members, Andrew Hassard, who joined the elite band of men and women who can call themselves deca-finishers. Demonstrating an incredible amount of logistical and athletic endeavour, Andrew demonstrates that it is possible to balance a deca-race with work and also manage to fit in time to do some fundraising for his charity!
Here is a video of his story and the NI Decaman 2012.
