Milanova: The draft constitutional law to protect journalists is still under discussion

BRATISLAVA, NOV 22 (TASR) – The coalition is still debating a constitutional bill to address the protection of journalists and media freedom. This was stated by Minister of Culture of the Slovak Republic Natalia Milanova (OĽANO) at a press conference on Monday, in which she presented the status of the updated legislation to the media. He added, “We want to refer this draft law, which will be an umbrella for the updated media laws, to the legislative process in a form that has a general agreement.” The minister stressed.

Milanova, for example, noted that the term “journalist and journalistic activity” has not yet been defined. We have tried to realize these two concepts in constitutional law, advertiser. According to her, the very protection of journalists aims to solve situations in which a journalist is at risk in the performance of his work. “There is still room for discussion with the Ministry of Justice of the Slovak Republic regarding the wording of the text,” She added.
