The British police have officially fired a police officer who allegedly took “selfie” photos and pictures of vulnerable people during the service. The DPA said Wednesday.

Ryan Connolly was a member of the Mercedes Police Department in northwestern England. The investigation revealed that he had shared pictures containing racist and homosexual content and had taken photographs of mentally ill people placed in appropriate medical facilities.

In 2018, he took photos of a closed murder scene where they stabbed a teenager. He also shared a photo of a Ku-Klux-clan member.

The Guardian reported on its website that Connolly had resigned in November ahead of disciplinary action. Police in Mercedes later dismissed him for “gross breach of duty.”

According to Merseysid Police, his actions undermined public confidence in the police and harmed most police officers who perform quality public service.
