His former classmate Marián Hoss in Chicago, Tomáš Kopecký in a Florida shirt or Zdena Chára left Boston with his wife and two young sons – two-year-old Beau and three-month-old Mac.
Tragedy occurred the day after the celebration that Hayes and his friends celebrated the second birthday of their eldest son. His peers, descendants of teammates Hayes from Boston College, also attended.
“Let’s keep making the kids! Celebrating the weekend of the three boys’ birthdays was so much fun. Friends forever, their parents played hockey together at Boston College,” Hayes’ wife Kristen wrote on the social network the day before her husband passed away.
The well-built striker (195 cm, 98 kg) worked in the NHL until the 2017/18 season, most recently wearing a New Jersey jersey. He represented the USA at the 2014 World Cup in Belarus.
