The famous football derby of Spartak Trnava – ŠK Slovan Bratislava for the first place in the table in the 11th round of the Fortuna League was not completed on Sunday. Its 161st edition expired after 15 minutes. The reason for this was a mass fight between fans of both camps, which took place directly on the lawn, which the history of the highest competition in Slovakia does not remember.
The fight was preceded by mutual provocations and a throwing of Delopuchas in the perspective of the Anton Malatinsko Stadium in Trnava. At first, referee Philip Glova only interrupted the match and called the players to the locker room. After about 45 minutes, he returned to the field, broke up, and eventually ended the match.
In the coming days, an extraordinary Presidency of the League of Clubs Association will meet to deal with the derby, which was closed prematurely. Trnava is at risk of infection.
“The League of Clubs Association will in the next few days start an extraordinary presidency of ÚLK, which will deal with the decision of the derby, which was closed prematurely.
ÚLK unequivocally condemns such encouraging behavior, which has nothing to do with football stadiums. It was supposed to be a celebration of football and the return of the fans after a difficult period, instead, unfortunately, there will be no talk of performance on the field.” Came in the opinion of ULK.
