Huawei has another problem. President Biden blocked his access to licenses – communications – science and technology

Huawei and ZTE components will no longer be available in the US to mobile operators or Internet service providers. The national regulator also requires that licenses already granted can be withdrawn.

The Chinese company has always been at a disadvantage to the US authorities due to alleged cooperation with the Chinese government. It was blacklisted by former President Trump, complicating the company’s business not only in the United States but nearly all over the world. Thus Huawei cannot buy many components or even cooperate with US companies and suppliers. Expectations that newly appointed President Biden would reverse the speech did not materialize. The opposite is true.

President Biden recently signed a decree banning the use of Huawei, ZTE, and three other components of US network infrastructure. This will not allow mobile or internet service providers to purchase and use components. The original proposal garnered support from both Democratic and Republican senators, who voted for it on October 28.

The US Federal Communications Commission (FCC) said in March that up to 5 Chinese companies pose a national security risk. In addition to Huawei and ZTE, the list also includes Hytera Communications, Hangzhou Hikvision Digital Technology, and Zhejiang Dahua Technology. Since the FCC is only a regulator, it was not required to prevent companies from participating in tenders, despite the potential risks. However, the FCC is demanding more powers, as well as the ability to undo companies that have already been granted.
