TOKYO – Slovakian parachutist Veronika Vadovicova won a gold medal in the 50-meter mixed shooting in a new Paralympic record of 248.9 points at PH 2020 Center in Tokyo.

And occupied the Swedish Anna Norman second place by only 0.4 points, and the third was Juan Antonio Saavedra Rinaldo (226.3 points). Wadovichova reached the finals from fourth place in qualifying with a bullet of 620.3 points, which was won by German Natasha Hiltrupova in a new world record and at the Paralympic Games 627.7 points. Another representative of Slovakia, Radoslav Malinovsky, took 35th place with a performance of 609.3 points.

“It’s even more beautiful because it’s a competition where he shoots with the guys. Fighting them is really hard work. One bad shot and one nine is enough and the rankings are instantly shuffled. But when there are only four contenders left in the final, then I believed in the medal. It was really driven by a good lead.” . Her coach Milan Giulietta told spv.sk.

The Slovak team thus won a total of 11 medals (5-2-4) in Tokyo, which they also managed in Rio de Janeiro 2016.

Results:
1. Veronika VADOVIČOVÁ (SR) 248,9 b, 2. Anna Normannová (Sweden) 248.5, 3. Juan Antonio Saavedra Reinaldo (Šp.) 226.3, … in Qual.: 35. Radoslav MALENOVSKÝ (SR) ) 609.3
