Slovan arrived in Greece without punishing De Marc and injured Vice Jr., Holman and Lofat out of play for a longer period. The visitors had the opportunity to pull the difference after 9 minutes, due to a defensive error that left him completely unchecked. Pauschek Taylor called and Akpom opened the score with his head exposed to the opponent’s five – 1: 0. The Slavs managed to catch up quickly. Henty headed home on the edge of the penalty area, quickly orientated himself, and despite his powerful shot, goalkeeper Pauk Pascalakis sped away, Green passed the ball wide – 1: 1. Two minutes later, due to the slackening of the visiting defense, Schwab burst in and fired past Chuvana on close up. PAOK dominated possession of the ball, but Slovan felt it could be played and was more dangerous in attack. After 37 minutes, impressive play on the left side freed Paschalakisa’s Paschalakisa from the net to score another goal for the visitors. In the end, Dracic blasted past goalkeeper PAOK, who parried his corner attempt.
Even after the break, Slovan did not give up his tactics and kept his opponent at a distance from Chovan, who was practically without work. After an hour of play, Drai caught the pass midfield, advanced toward the home goal, but finished the semi-final poorly. The home team’s game came into play with the arrival of Besisewar, but Metret’s cross attempt did not end with a goal and Slovan held off on other chances. Mráz almost gave the visitors the lead in the 84th minute of the match when he hit a weak ball over the goalkeeper, but the ball hit the crossbar without causing any damage.
Voices after the match / Source: RTVS /:
Vladimir Weiss Sr., Slovan coach: “Before the game we were taking the point and I think we can still consider it golden. We played a great game with a tough opponent, we had three clear chances. I think we will get some points at home and fight for promotion. Today was the best player of the match, he played Fantastically good. He’s an international player.”
Lukasz Bauchek, Slovan defender: “It was a very difficult match. The home team took the lead first after my mistake when I let the player center the line. Fortunately, we managed to equalize quickly. We played as a team and were able to get chances. It’s a pity we didn’t use it, but we are also happy with that point.” .
