Police say a delivery driver has died after being knocked down by thieves who stole his vehicle.
A 14-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of robbery after authorities were called to a report of a road traffic collision in Stockport, Romley, just after 9pm on Friday.
The delivery driver’s car was stolen by thieves.
The victim, a 53-year-old man, was taken to hospital in critical condition but died Sunday afternoon, a Greater Manchester Police spokesman said.
Detectives have launched a murder investigation, and at the intersection of Lime Grove and Hazel Avenue, are continuing to search for the silver Mercedes they believe was stolen in the incident.
C-Inspector Liam Botan said: “This is a very sad case, it has shaken the community and completely devastated a family. We believe that others may have been involved in this incident and many investigations are ongoing to find those responsible.
“We still ask the public to present any information that can help us – even the smallest information can prove to be important.
“Anyone who saw a Silver Mercedes at the time may have seen it in suspicious circumstances since it was asked to be contacted – this vehicle may prove important in our investigation. We are interested in contacting anyone with any CCTV or Dashcam footage.”
