The Outlaw : A Race Report by Kate McNeil
This past weekend witnessed one of the most eagerly anticipated races on the UK long distance triathlon scene in the form of the Outlaw. This year the race was won by Eugene Grant and Vicky Gill, but for a time one of our regular contributors Kate McNeil was pushing all the way for a podium place.

Keith Brown, Kate Lahart win Fambridge Yacht Haven Triathlon
The third Fambridge Yacht Haven Half Ironman Triathlon took place on Sunday 2nd June and proved as popular as ever with plenty of people enjoying the experience and taking advantage of the fantastic weather on offer.

Beth Fowler takes 2nd at TATA Steelman
Our resident PRO, Beth Fowler, continued her early season good form with a second place at TATA Steelman. Whilst her hip injury is still inhibiting her performance levels, Beth is still managing to put together some promising results in her 2nd year as a PRO.

Beth Fowler wins Highland Warrior Triathlon
Pro triathlete and Beyond Going Long contributor, Beth Fowler, made it a hat-trick of wins at the weekend when she took pole position at the formidable Highland Warrior Triathlon. The victory comes hot on the heels of wins at the Blaenafon Triathlon and ICSA Duathlon and demonstrates Fowler is in some form prior to her first assault on the Ironman series later this year.

Triathletes battle it out at Lough Cutra Castle Triathlon
Over 400 competitors enjoyed glorious sunshine at the Lough Cutra Castle Triathlon, Gort, Co. Galway yesterday (Sunday 26th May). The event which is just in its second year attracted first timers, children, families and elite triathletes from across Ireland and the UK, racing either in teams or by themselves. Competitors and spectators enjoyed the stunning race course accompanied by a festival atmosphere including: Irish piper and live band, children’s entertainment and food as the event soaked up the sunshine.
In action over the weekend were several names familiar to those who follow the longer aspect of the sport of triathlon, including Matt Molloy pictured, coming third over the line. Check out the race report here.
Bethan Fowler wins Blaenafon Triathlon
PRO Bethan Fowler successfully defended her Blaenafon Triathlon title in what was the 30th running of the popular race fixture. It was a tough day of racing as the weather would take a turn for the worse, but Ironman PRO and regular BGL contributor, Bethan Fowler, would prove equal to the task and took the title.
The mens race was won by Richard Wilder.
