The Slovak tennis players lost the opening match of Group C in the final of the Billie Jean King Cup in Prague with Spain 1: 2.
Everything was decided by the doubles final, in which the pair Viktória Kužmová and Tereza Mihalíková lost to the pair Carla Suarezová Navarrová and Sara Sorribesová Tormová 6:4, 2:6, 7:10. On Tuesday at 5pm, the Slovaks will compete against the United States and if they want to consider qualifying for the semi-finals, they have to win.
Spanish captain Annabel Medinova made a nomination change before the doubles and sent both singles to court. All actors acted until 3: 3. After that, Soribisova Turmova, Mihalikova and Suarezova Navarova lost their service. At 5:4, the Slovaks lost at Kužmová 30:40, but they avoided two breaks and made a successful finish with the first set.
In the second act, the Spanish couple had the upper hand, as they based their net runs count and also took advantage of Mihalíková’s many easy mistakes. The decision was made in super secret, as Suarez Navarro and Sorribes had a swollen upper hand. The Slovaks succeeded in banishing four duelists with a time of 3:9, but the fifth was converted by the Spaniards.
