Oslo. Norwegian authorities currently consider a total of 24 people “victims” to the causes of the attack by a man with a bow and arrow, which killed five people and wounded three on October 13 in the Norwegian city of Kongsberg. This was announced by the Norwegian police, on Wednesday, and Agence France-Presse quoted her statements.

Denmark’s Espen Andersen Bratten attacked people on the evening of October 13 in Kongsberg. He was immediately detained by the police and he is currently undergoing psychiatric examinations. Police believe he was attacked by mental illness.

“We still have 24 victims in the case,” Police Inspector Per Thomas Umholt said at a news conference on Wednesday. He stated that this number includes five dead, three wounded and 16 others who were subjected to “various incidents” related to the attack.

He described the last group mentioned as people whom the attacker tried to kill or wound, most of whom were shooting arrows with a bow. The inspector added that this figure could still change. Umholt also said police had not yet determined a motive for the attack.

Bratten, who had lived in Kongsberg for a long time, announced on social media before the attack that he had converted to Islam, leading to speculation about a jihadist motive for the attack. However, according to Umholt, the investigation “weakened” this hypothesis, and it is not even clear whether this man really converted to Islam.
