Duchess Kate’s 39-year-old mother, Carol Middleton, gives only exceptional interviews. The 66-year-old mother, grandmother and businesswoman has now done so for the Daily Mail. There can be no doubt about his close relationship with his daughter, the wife of Prince William. But Carol has been staying for years, enjoying the life of a grandmother five times.
In the 1980s, she started her party accessories business and the Middleton family was able to successfully establish themselves. “For me, my private life and my work life are not two separate things, but both are an essential and interdependent part of me,” she said in an interview.
As she revealed, it was her three children – Kate, Pippa and James – who led her to the business plan. In the 80s and 90s, it was hard to find suitable and tasteful things for parties to organize family celebrations or other celebrations – and if she wanted to arrange a nice party as a mother of three, she had to make the decorations herself. At that time, the idea for her work arose. “I have a job that I enjoy every day and that’s exactly what I’ve always wanted,” she revealed.

Despite her successful career, 66-year-old Carol is the most important time she spends with her family and grandchildren. Her husband, Michael (72), is also involved. “The only thing I can say about motherhood is how much I loved and still love him. Mike was a good and understanding father, and we were always finding a way to reconcile work and family life.” And although Carol Middleton has five grandchildren, she has not yet retired. According to her, it is possible to enjoy both.
“I will continue to enjoy my life to the fullest, spending a lot of time with my children and grandchildren and expanding my company so that I can realize my ideas,” she described. “I spend a lot of time with young people, which helps me stay young.”
