VO2 Cycles launch new bike maintenance courses
Kent-based performance cycling outfit VO2 have launched some new bike maintenance courses.
The courses have been designed to teach you everything you need to know to keep your bike in great condition. Lead by our head mechanic you will go through each task step by step on your own bicycle. We keep the groups small so you have the full attention of our course leader and can ask questions at any time. You will also receive notes on the process you have gone through for each task. The courses are held at our studio in Hildenborough.
Mechanic course level 1
This course will give you all the basic skills to keep your bike in good working order on a day to day basis. You will teach how to check your bike over with the correct methods. The taks you will learn on this course are:
- Checking condition of tyres
- Repairing inner tubes
- Changing inner tubes
- How to check rim wear
- Basic brake adjustment
- Correct installation of quick release axles
- Oiling the chain correctly
Mechanic course level 2
Our level 2 course will show you how to preform some fundamental tasks on your bicycle. This will give you the skills to be able to do a basic service on your bicycle. The tasks you will learn on this course are:
- Brake adjustment
- Brake pad change ie inserts
- Headset adjustment
- Using a quick link to repair chain
- Removal of pedals
- Fitting pedals
- Basic gear adjustment
- Adjusting saddle angle
