Miralem Pjanic: Barcelona rejects $ 448 million buyout clause at new star

The midfielder will head to the Catalan club from Juventus at the end of the current season the move cost more than $ 67 million (€ 60 million).

The 30-year-old signed a four-year contract with the current La Liga champion, after a successful stay in the Italian Serie A.

He helped Juventus win three league titles at the club in four years and it looks like he will add another point this season with a team that has four points at the top of the table.

His move to Spain comes after a a turbulent season for Barcelona – which is only two points behind the fierce rival Real Madrid in the league, with six games left.
“I am very happy, I will do my best for this club. See you soon,” Pjanic wrote Instagram.

Veteran duo contracts

The move by the Bosnian international will see that Barcelona’s Arthur will move in the other direction, with Juventus paying the Brazilian an initial $ 80 million.

Arthur joined Barcelona from Brazilian club Grêmio in 2018, winning a league title and a Super Cup in his debut season.

Like Pjanic, the 23-year-old will not move to his new club until the end of the current season.

Juventus have also agreed to extend a one-year contract for both 35-year-old captain Giorgio Chiellini and 42-year-old goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon.

“Super Gigi is proof that age is just a number,” he read statement from the club.

The veteran keeper has played for Juventus more than 500 times since his debut in 2001, and returned to Italian equipment last year after a showdown with French champions PSG.
