Paul Amey and Rachel Joyce win Ironman Texas

It was a double British win tonight as both Paul Amey and Rachel Joyce came away with the Ironman Texas titles in dominating fashion.

Joyce showed her fantastic form by dipping under the iconic sub-9 barrier by taking the tape in 8:49:19 and finishing 8th overall. Paul Amey won the race on the run but was chased hard all the way by James Cunnama, and took the tape in 8:25:06.

Andy Potts wins his 5th Ironman 70.3 Oceanside title

Heather Jackson wins the ladies race whilst Paterson claims 3rd

Making headlines this weekend was Andy Potts at Ironman 70.3 Oceanside as the American claimed his 5th Californian title. No-one knows this course like Potts does.

Meanwhile it was Heather Jackson who took the ladies title but all eyes were on Lesley Paterson, who ran down most of the field in thrilling fashion to claim 3rd!

Lidbury looking for big win despite injury concerns

Racing in far warmer conditions than us sitting here in England are the athletes preparing to tackle California based race, Ironman 70.3 Oceanside. All eyes will be on what is the biggest race on the circuit this weekend in an event contested by the likes of Rachel Joyce, Emma-Kate Lidbury and XTERRA World Champion Lesley Paterson.

On the men’s side, our interests are represented by James Hadley and Robbie Wade.

Whilst Ironman racing is never plain sailing, matters have been complicated somewhat for Lidbury who has decided to race despite recently dislocating her shoulder. Can she pull of a big result against the odds? Check out the preview here…

Long-distance multi-sport to benefit from funding

British Triathlon has confirmed support for multisport athletes including ETU Powerman European Duathlon Champion, Lucy Gossage, ITU Cross Triathlon World Champion and Ironman 70.3 competitor Lesley Patterson, long distance duathlete Matt Moorehouse and the promising talent of Mark Threlfall.

Also benefiting the scheme are Ironman World Champion Leanda Cave, Challenge Roth winner Rachel Joyce and top British Ironman racer Tom Lowe, who will work under the titles of Long Distance ambassadors. Check out the full story below.

World’s finest international triathletes line-up to Challenge Roth

Challenge Roth, one of the premier iron-distance races on the triathlon calendar, will kick off on the 14th July and will feature a PRO race full of talent that can take the title.

Last year it was our very own Rachel Joyce, who laid down her credentials for the Ironman World Title challenge by winning at this race and some of the fastest times in the world can be seen here. Rachel Joyce switches up her coaching team

Rachel Joyce has been back in training for over a month under the tutelage of a new coach.

In 2013, she will be coached by the Hall of Famer Dave Scott at his facility in Boulder, ending her successful association with previous coach Matt Dixon.
