Ironman UK

22nd July 2012

The only race in England to offer Kona age group slots and pro qualifying points, Iroman UK is an established and valuable event on the long-distance calendar.

In 2012, the race returns to Bolton for the 4th time and it has a reputation as one of the toughest places to race and qualify for the World Championships.

An Ironman race is like no other – it is unashamedly big, bold and quite probably the event most of your friends will have heard of. To do long-distance goes hand-in-hand with Ironman.

Ironman UK is located around the North-West of England and boasts one of the toughest bike legs in the world circuit. This is followed up with a tough city run around Bolton itself.

An amendment to the course in 2011 saw record times for the course and the Ironman brand and this race tends to attract top pros and age groupers hunting prize money and Kona qualification.
